Backstory:
Thrifty Ant was born out of the eclectic cityscape of Austin, Texas. The band was formed in 2010 by a quintet of creatives who were working in a vintage record shop on the South Congress strip. The five members – lead singer and guitarist Sam ‘Thrifty’ Hartley, bassist Maddie ‘Ant’ Ellis, drummer Joe ‘The Exterminator’ Reed, keyboardist Hannah ‘Colony’ Morris and electric violinist Nick ‘Legs’ Jones – were inspired by the quirky, thrift-store aesthetic of their workplace and the rich musical heritage of their city, and decided to combine their talents to create a unique sonic fusion.
Their rise to fame was not an overnight success story. The band spent many years performing at local bars and house parties, slowly building a loyal fanbase with their unconventional sounds and energetic stage presence. It wasn’t until their breakthrough single ‘Bargain Bin Blues’ caught the attention of a renowned music blogger that their career started to gain momentum. Since then, Thrifty Ant has been captivating audiences across the nation with their inventive melodies and heartfelt lyrics.
Genre:
Thrifty Ant’s music is a blend of Indie Rock and Folk with a hint of Blues.

[C] In the corner of the thrift store, [G] under dust and grime,
[Am] Found a gem, a vinyl record, [F] lost in time.

[G] Spin it around, let the music play,
[Am] Dancing to the Bric-a-Brac Beat, [F] fade away.
[C] In the heart of the music, [G] find what’s true,
[Am] The sweetest tune, [F] the thrift-store blues.

[Am] Each stitch, each seam, [F] a crafted spell.
[C] Echoes of the Bric-a-Brac Beat, [G] in every thread,
[Am] We’re weaving our song, [F] with the music we’ve bled.
