Backstory:
Equatorial Cheese is a three-piece band that originated in the tropical heart of Panama in 2006. They were all high school friends with a shared love for music and cheese. They ended up creating a band as a means of escaping the stringent norms of their conservative society, pouring their youthful angst and dreams into their songs. The choice of the name ‘Equatorial Cheese’ came from their shared love for the exotic cheeses they would sneak out of their homes to try at local markets, and their equatorial heritage. They started their journey as a garage band, playing for friends and family until they were discovered by a local radio executive during an impromptu performance at a cheese festival.
