Backstory:
Oddball Fishing was formed in 2014, in the heart of Manchester, England by childhood friends, Mark “Mad Dog” Davies and Leo “Undertow” Underwood. The duo, known for their eccentric demeanor, found solace in each other’s company and discovered their shared passion for music during the long summer nights spent fishing at their local watering hole, hence the name “Oddball Fishing.” When they weren’t fishing, they were experimenting with music, developing a unique sound that would eventually evolve into their signature style.
The band started performing locally, and quickly became a favorite at intimate venues and pubs around Manchester. They were known for their lively performances, and the way they could turn any gig into a unique experience. Oddball Fishing’s fanbase grew as they began touring around the UK, and the duo decided to record their first album in 2017. Their music, filled with tales of love, friendship, and of course, fishing, resonated with their audience, making them a beloved act on the indie scene.

Title: “River’s Edge”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
C G
Beneath the moon and under the stars,
Am Em
We cast our dreams into the night so far.
F C G
Out here on the river’s edge, just my rod and my best friend.
[Chorus]
C G
Oh, the river murmurs sweet promises,
Am Em
Reflecting our dreams in its abyss.
F C G
At the river’s edge, we’re fishing for tomorrow’s treasures.
[Verse 2]
C G
The night whispers secrets to the river,
Am Em
Soft ripples hold stories that make us shiver.
F C G
Yet here at the river’s edge, we find solace and pledge.
[Chorus]
C G
The river’s edge, where dreams are cast,
Am Em
In the depths of night, our anchors fast.
F C G
At the river’s edge, we’re fishing for tomorrow’s pleasures.

Testimonial:
“As a fan, Oddball Fishing is more than just a band to me. Their songs tell stories that resonate deeply and, in many ways, they’ve become the soundtrack of my life. I’ve been an avid fan since their first gig in my hometown of Manchester. Their unique blend of indie folk-rock and the way they weave fishing into their lyrics is oddly charming and refreshing. It’s like they’re singing directly to me, about the things I love and experiences I’ve had. Their music has a way of making me feel seen, and I think that’s why they’re my favourite band. Their song ‘River’s Edge’ is my personal anthem. When life gets tough, their music is my solace, just like the river’s edge they often sing about.”
