Backstory:
Dimwitted Summer is an indie pop-rock quintet hailing from the sunny beaches of California. Originally formed in 2015, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Sara Manning, lead guitarist Jake Roberts, bassist and backing vocalist Ben Turner, drummer Mike Evans, and keyboardist/auxiliary percussionist Lucy Hamilton. They met during high school, bonding over their shared love of music, the ocean, and the freedom of the summer season. The name ‘Dimwitted Summer’ was inspired by their shared memories of the carefree, sometimes crazy, but always memorable summers they spent together in their youth.

The band began performing at local gigs and quickly gained a reputation for their energetic performances and catchy tunes. In 2018, Dimwitted Summer released their debut album, which was well-received by fans and critics alike, propelling the band into the national spotlight. Their songs, laden with sun-soaked melodies and vibrant lyrics, evoke a nostalgic longing for endless summer days and youthful optimism.
