Backstory:
Horrible Regret, an indie-rock band, was formed in a small town in Vermont in the summer of 2012. The founding members, lead vocalist and guitarist Max Adler and bassist Pete Mulligan, were childhood friends who shared a deep passion for music. They spent countless hours in Max’s garage, experimenting with different sounds and writing heartfelt, brutally honest lyrics that reflected their life experiences. After adding drummer Sam Booker and keyboardist Lily Chen to the lineup, Horrible Regregt was complete. Their music quickly gained a following in their town, and soon they were playing in different cities across the country.

Title: “Chasing Shadows”
Full song lyrics:
Verse 1: (C G Am F)
In the backstreets, under the neon lights,
Chasing shadows, running through the night.
Lost souls, finding our way,
In the music, we find our escape.
Chorus: (F C G Am)
Chasing shadows, we can’t find the light.
In the echo of a love, we’ve lost sight.
Through the heartache, through the pain,
In the chorus of our songs, we remain.
Verse 2: (C G Am F)
Beneath the stars, in the cold night air,
Strumming chords on a guitar, lost in despair.
Broken dreams, scattered on the floor,
In the rhythm of our heartbeats, we endure.
Chorus: (F C G Am)
Chasing shadows, in the misty dawn.
In the silence, we find a song.
Through the sorrow, through the regret,
In the harmony of our voices, we forget.
Bridge: (Am F C G)
We’re just dreamers, lost in the sound,
In melodies, our salvation is found.
Chorus: (F C G Am)
Chasing shadows, in a world gone astray.
In the lyrics, we find our way.
Through the turmoil, through the threat,
In the rhythm of our music, we reset.
Fan Profile:
Our biggest fan is a young woman named Emily, who first saw us perform at a local club in our hometown. Emily says, “Horrible Regret is my favorite band because their music speaks to me on a deep, personal level. Their lyrics tell stories that reflect my own experiences and emotions. It’s like they’ve taken the contents of my heart and soul and turned them into beautiful, evocative songs. I feel seen and understood when I listen to their music. Plus, their live performances are electrifying! The energy, the emotion, the connection with the audience – it’s something truly special. I’ll always be a Horrible Regret fan.”
