Mortified Capital

Backstory:
Mortified Capital originated from humble beginnings in the bustling city of Detroit, Michigan. Founding members and childhood friends Max Glynis (vocalist/guitarist) and Jamie Starks (drummer) began their musical journey as university roommates, making music in the wee hours of the night in their cramped dorm room. A chance encounter with multi-talented musician, Adrian Keen (bassist/keyboardist) at a local open-mic night led to the formation of Mortified Capital in 2010. After years of hard work and dedication, the band achieved local fame in 2012 when they won a city-wide battle of the bands competition, which led them to their first record deal.

Genre:
The band’s musical style could best be described as a fusion of Indie Rock and Electronic Pop, creating a unique sound that has captivated audiences far and wide.

Title:
“Empty Streets & Neon Nights”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am | G | F | G
Walking down these empty streets,
Underneath the neon lights,
Drinks are spilling, hearts are thrilling,
In the midst of our stolen nights.

(Chorus)
C | G | Am | F
Empty streets & neon nights,
We’re just lost souls in paradise,
In the echoes of the city lights,
We find our home in the twilight.

(Verse 2)
Am | G | F | G
The city sleeps, our secret keeps,
Tales of love and endless dreams,
Under stars and between bars,
We’re weaving tales not as they seem.

(Chorus)
C | G | Am | F
Empty streets & neon nights,
Passion burning, oh so bright,
Underneath the city’s sight,
We’re just shadows in the night.

(Bridge)
G | Am | F | C
The night is young, our song unsung,
Underneath the neon, our tale has just begun.

(Chorus)
C | G | Am | F
Empty streets & neon nights,
In the heartbeat of the city’s fight,
We find our rhythm, we find our light,
In these empty streets & neon nights.
