Great name for a band
Overjoyed Fund
The story
Overjoyed Fund formed in 2019 in a cramped Brooklyn apartment, where four friends with day jobs in finance and social work would unwind by jamming late into the night. Their name is a tongue-in-cheek nod to their day jobs and their tongue-in-cheek optimism, as well as a declaration of their mission to bring joy, catharsis, and a little bit of chaos to their listeners. Growing from casual open mic nights to sold-out indie venues, Overjoyed Fund quickly developed a loyal following drawn to their energetic live shows and bittersweet lyrics. Their music blends nostalgia, wit, and vulnerable honesty, reflecting the emotional highs and lows of navigating your twenties in a city that never sleeps.

Name: Ramona Jenkins Ramona has followed Overjoyed Fund since their first open mic at The Tiny Cup Cafe. She says, "I work long shifts at the hospital, and their music was the thing that helped me decompress on the subway home. It’s honest, clever, and somehow manages to make me feel like things will work out, even on my worst days. I even met my girlfriend at one of their shows! Overjoyed Fund is the soundtrack to my life, and I’ll never miss a show if I can help it."
