Remorseful Swimming

Backstory:

Remorseful Swimming was formed in a small town in the heart of Georgia in 2008. The band members, each with a shared love for music, had taken up solo careers before uniting under one name. The group’s lead singer, Corey Jenkins, was a former choirboy whose love for old-school gospel music resonated with the other band members. They soon found themselves experimenting with a fusion of indie rock and gospel, paving the way for a new sound that had never been heard before. Over the years, they earned a loyal fan base that loved their unique style, relatable lyrics, and compelling performances. They would often play at local pubs before they got their big break and started touring nationwide.

Title: “Baptism by the Riverbed”

Full song lyrics:

[Verse 1 – Em, C, G, D]
(Em) Down by the river, where we used to play,
(C) Strumming my guitar, on a sunny day,
(G) Looking at the water, as it rushes by,
(D) Singing about love, under the clear blue sky.

[Chorus – G, D, Em, C]
(G) Baptism by the riverbed,
(D) Where we washed away our sins,
(Em) In the water, in the sunlight,
(C) This is where our story begins.

[Verse 2 – Em, C, G, D]
(Em) Remembering the laughter, and the tears we shed,
(C) Growing up together, as we forged ahead,
(G) The river running deep, as our bonds grew stronger,
(D) In this sacred place, we could linger longer.

[Chorus – G, D, Em, C]
(G) Baptism by the riverbed,
(D) Where we found our sacred song,
(Em) In the water, in the moonlight,
(C) This is where we truly belong.
