Backstory:
Automatic Problem was formed in 2012, in the heart of Chicago’s lively music scene. Comprised of lead vocalist and guitarist Jack “Automatic” Thompson, bassist Lenny “Systemic” Sanchez, and drummer Simon “Error” Green, the band was initially just a group of friends jamming together in their spare time. Thompson, who worked as a software developer, derived the band’s name from the constant issues he faced at work. It was his belief that every problem that automatically arose had a solution embedded within it, a philosophy they carried into their music.
When Thompson wrote a catchy song about his frustrations at work, the group decided to bring their music to the public. They started playing small gigs around the city, and their unique sound soon began to attract a dedicated fanbase. The trio’s combination of strong lyrics, haunting melodies, and energetic performances quickly solidified their reputation as a must-see act in the local music scene.

Typing away in a cubicle cell,

My life feels like a digital hell.

Automatic problem, software blues,

Got to find a way to reboot, to lose these chains.

Caffeine rush, a deadline near,

Silicon whispers are all I hear.

In the heart of this machinery maze,

I’m searching for some human grace.

System overload, can’t decode,

The complexity of this code.

In this world of binary,

I’m just seeking some clarity,
Am Em
In the chaos and the noise,

I’m just looking for a voice.

G D
System overload, can’t decode,
Am C
The complexity of this code.
G D
Automatic problem, software blues,

Got to find a way to reboot, and find the truth.

Testimonial:
“Automatic Problem has been my favorite band since I first heard them play at a small bar in Chicago. Their music just spoke to me on a level that no other band has ever managed. The lyrics are deep and meaningful, and the melodies are simply unforgettable. As a fellow software developer, their song ‘System Overload’ resonates with me, and I love how they’ve turned such a mundane topic into an anthem of self-discovery and rebellion. Every time I listen to their music, I feel empowered and understood. To all techies out there feeling the blues, give Automatic Problem a listen. You won’t be disappointed!”
