Disguised Disappointment

Backstory:

Disguised Disappointment was born out of a garage in a small town in Wyoming, a group of high school buddies brought together by their mutual love for music and their shared disillusionment with their mundane, monotonous lives. The four members – lead vocalist and guitarist Brian ‘the Brain’ Donovan, drummer and backing vocalist Jake ‘the Beast’ Maddox, bassist Mike ‘Mikey’ Thompson, and keyboardist and backing vocalist Alex ‘the Whisper’ Schmidt – found solace in creating music that became an outlet for their frustrations and disappointments. The boys had a penchant for wearing masks during performances, reflecting their band name and the sentiments expressed through their music, thus elevating them to almost an iconic status in their local music scene.

Their rise to fame was as unexpected as it was rapid. A YouTube video of one of their performances at a local music festival went viral, and they were soon signed by an indie record label. Despite their blossoming success, the boys of Disguised Disappointment never lost the raw, honest edge that initially drew their fans towards them.
