Backstory:
Salty Zephyr was born on the sandy beaches of Malibu, California, in the summer of 2009. The band members— lead vocalist and guitarist, Jamie “Salty” Tilden, bassist Ryan “Zephyr” Marseille, and drummer Lily “Breeze” King— were all surf instructors who discovered their shared love for music during their downtime on the beach. They began with spontaneous jam sessions on the shores, their music blending with the sound of crashing waves, and soon they started to perform at local beach bars and parties, quickly becoming a beloved part of the local scene.
In 2011, the band decided to fully commit to their music career, and they took a break from surfing to record their debut album. They transformed their beach hut into a recording studio, and with the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop, they crafted their unique sound. It wasn’t long before their beach-infused tunes started to gain traction, and Salty Zephyr began to rise from local Malibu stars to a nationally recognized band.

“I’ve been a dedicated fan of Salty Zephyr from the start. I first heard them at a beach bar in Malibu back in ’09, and I was immediately captivated by their raw energy and the authenticity of their music. Their song ‘Ocean’s Tides’ speaks to my soul like no other song ever has. It’s like they’ve managed to encapsulate the freedom and wild abandon of the ocean into a melody. Every time I listen to their music, I feel like I’m right back on those sun-soaked beaches, feeling the sand beneath my toes and the ocean breeze in my hair. Salty Zephyr isn’t just a band to me, it’s a lifestyle, it’s a mentality. They’re by far my favorite band and will always have a lifelong fan in me.”
