Arid Signal

Backstory:
Born in the harsh landscapes of the Mojave Desert, the four members of Arid Signal found solace and unity in the power of music. The band was founded in 2012 by childhood friends and ardent music enthusiasts, Luke ‘Dusty’ Matthews (lead vocals, guitar), Max ‘Spike’ Harrison (bass, backing vocals), Caleb ‘Cactus’ Rogers (drums), and Sam ‘Sandy’ Bennett (keyboard, synth). The desert, with its austere beauty and relentless challenges, shaped their raw and evocative sound. The band’s unyielding spirit and passionate performances have garnered them a devout following, and they continue to echo the spirit of the desert through their music.

Title:
“Desolate Rhythm”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am Em G D
Desert winds, they call my name,
Am Em G D
Underneath the starry frame.
Am Em G D
In the quiet, I hear the beat,
Am Em G D
Of the desolate rhythm, wild and fleet.

(Chorus)
Am Em G D
Oh, desolate rhythm, you’re in my soul,
Am Em G D
In every beat, in every role.
Am Em G D
You’re the pulse beneath the sand,
Am Em G D
In this arid, desolate land.

(Verse 2)
Am Em G D
The moonlight paints a silver crest,
Am Em G D
On the land that we know best.
Am Em G D
We dance to the heart of the night,
Am Em G D
With the desolate rhythm, pure and bright.

(Repeat Chorus)
Am Em G D
Oh, desolate rhythm, you’re in my soul,
Am Em G D
In every beat, in every role.
Am Em G D
You’re the pulse beneath the sand,
Am Em G D
In this arid, desolate land.

Liv first discovered Arid Signal at a local charity gig in 2013 and has since followed their journey, attending every show and buying every album. She describes them as, “More than just a band. They are the voice of the desert, the spirit of resilience. Arid Signal’s music is raw, real, and resonates with my soul. Their songs like ‘Desolate Rhythm’ tell a story of survival, strength, and the beauty of finding harmony amidst adversity. They are my lifeline in the sea of mainstream, cookie-cutter music.”
