Fussy Type

Backstory:

Fussy Type was born out of the eclectic music scene of Austin, Texas in 2013. The band consists of five members: lead vocalist and keyboardist Dax DeLeon, bassist and backup vocalist Sydney Xu, lead guitarist Jackson “Jax” Hill, drummer Oliver “Ollie” Johnson, and violinist Mia Davis. The band initially met at a local music festival, each performing with different groups. They found a shared love of creating unique soundscapes and blending genres, leading to impromptu jam sessions that eventually gave birth to Fussy Type.

The band’s moniker was devised during their initial recording sessions, where each member’s meticulous attention to detail and commitment to perfection became evident. Backstory:

Formed in 2012 in the bustling city of Seattle, Fabulous Bronze is a music quartet that initially started as a college band. The band members include lead vocalist and guitarist, Keith Henderson, bassist, Mark Truman, drummer, Steve Ferguson, and keyboardist, Rachel Thomas. The band initially played at small town gigs and university events, before their music caught the attention of independent record label, ‘Urban Sounds’. After signing a contract with the label, the band recorded their first single, which became a local radio hit. The band’s popularity grew exponentially, earning them an invitation to perform in the much-anticipated ‘Seattle Annual Music Fest’, where they gained nationwide recognition.

Backstory:

Stingy Stress started as a three-piece in the dimly lit basement of a Portland, Oregon apartment complex way back in 2012. The band’s founding members – Jace “Jazz” Doyle on lead vocals and guitar, Max “Mad Max” Tibbs on bass, and Lucy “Loose” Rhinehart on drums – were all recovering from the break-up of their previous band projects. Fuelled by a shared desire to create music purely for the joy of it and devoid of commercial pressures, Stingy Stress was birthed. The band now stands as a beacon of unique sound in the otherwise cookie-cutter music industry.

Despite a modest beginning, Stingy Stress quickly gained a following through their raw, energetic live shows and their innovative approach to songwriting. Backstory:

Naive Discussion was born out of a late-night dorm room jam session at the New York University. Frontman and lyricist Keegan Shaw, a Literature student, found himself drawn to the moody guitar riffs of his roommate, Music major Ethan Rossi. They quickly discovered their synergy and added the versatile rhythm section of Journalism major, Sara Ross on drums and Art student, Leo Patterson on bass. Dubbed “Naive Discussion” as a tongue-in-cheek reference to their initial, carefree approach to music and life, they quickly found their niche in the bustling New York music scene, their thought-provoking lyrics and catchy tunes resonating with listeners.

Their chemistry sparked an unexpected evolution in their sonic identity, fusing their diverse interests and backgrounds together. The band’s sound has matured over the years, their music gaining depth and nuance. The Happy Entry story begins in a small town in Ohio, a town of hard-working people and simple joys. Evan, the lead singer, worked as a mechanic, but each night after his long day, he’d retreat to his small basement studio and pour his soul into music. He then shared his songs with his childhood friend, Mitchell, a school teacher with a deep love for music. Together they brought in two other friends, Alex, a promising drummer who worked at a local grocery store, and Sarah, a gifted pianist and songwriter who moonlighted as a waitress. Lumpy Reputation hails from the quirky streets of Austin, Texas. The band came together in the fall of 2012 when childhood friends, drummer Jerry “The Lump” Larson and singer/guitarist Delilah “Reputation” Redding realized they were creating a unique sound in their garage jam sessions. As individuals, they had their distinct eccentricities but when combined, they birthed the eccentric, lovable sound that people now recognize as Lumpy Reputation. The band added bassist, Hank “The Reverberation” Rodriguez and keyboardist, Iris “The Revolution” O’Connell, and the quartet began their journey towards changing the Austin music scene forever.

Odd University is a four-member band that was formed in 2012. The band members met while studying at an art school in New York City. They bonded over their shared love of music & the arts, and mutual oddity which led to the creation of the band. Band members include lead vocalist and guitarist, Max; drummer, Samuel; bass guitarist, Olivia; and keyboardist, Ethan. The name ‘Odd University’ came from the combination of their unique personalities, diverse musical influences and the fact they all met at university. Their music, like their origin, is a fusion of various genres.

Jumbo Face started their musical journey in a small, dank basement in Brooklyn, New York. Four childhood friends – Sam “The Shredder” Riddle, Tom “Mad Dog” Madsen, Jimmy “Jazz Hands” Morrison, and Pete “The Beat” Thompson – found solace and a sense of meaning in their shared love for music. Despite their disparate backgrounds, they all sought refuge from their mundane 9 to 5 jobs by jamming together in the evenings. Tired of being just another cog in the wheel of society, they decided to take the plunge and formed ‘Jumbo Face’ in 2013. The surprisingly unique name was inspired by their shared love for circus aesthetics and an inside joke about Morrison’s unusually large face.
