Backstory:

Faraway Management is a unique mix of talent that came together in the bustling music scene of Austin, Texas. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Jace “Rusty” DeLuca; lead guitarist, Shawn “Echo” Kearney; bassist, Leo “Bassman” Cunningham; and drummer, Harry “Hitter” Blackwood. Each member hails from a different part of the country, their paths crossing in the heartland of blues and rock, united by their shared love for music and a desire to create something that would resonate with audiences across the world. What started as a jamming session in a dingy garage quickly morphed into something much bigger, and Faraway Management was born.

The band’s name is a tongue-in-cheek reference to their collective disdain for their day jobs before they decided to pursue music full time. As they often joked, they were all “far away” from their management positions at different corporations. Sour Slope came to life in the small coastal town of Newport, Rhode Island. The four-member band is comprised of childhood friends – lead singer and guitarist, Max ‘Madman’ Harper, bassist, Sam ‘Slap’ Stone, drummer, Andy ‘Ace’ Summers, and keyboardist, Teddy ‘Tickler’ Thomas. United by their shared passion for music, these four young men spent their high school years jamming in each other’s garages, before deciding to take their music to the next level. They moved to Boston after graduating high school to take on the city’s thriving music scene.

Their first few years in the city were fraught with struggle; playing in dive bars, living together in a cramped apartment, and balancing day jobs with music. But their persistence paid off when they were discovered by a record executive at one of their shows. Vapid Round emerged from the bustling underground music scene of Seattle, Washington in the late 90s. The four-piece band, consisting of lead singer Dean Pollock, guitarist Terry Samuels, drummer Jay Mendoza, and bassist Billy Reynolds, all attended the same high school and bonded over their shared love of music. The friends started jamming in Pollock’s garage, experimenting with their sound throughout their high school years.
