Spotted Teacher was formed in the bustling city of Austin, Texas, in the mid-2000s. The band is comprised of four high school teachers who, after one fateful staff meeting that ended in a garage jam session, discovered they shared a common love for music. The chemistry was instantaneous, and it didn’t take long before they decided to mix their passion for education with their musical talents, forming the band Spotted Teacher.

The band members include Math teacher and lead vocalist, Eric “Equation” Mitchell, Chemistry teacher and bassist, Sally “Solution” Morales, English Literature teacher and drummer, Ted “Thesis” Bailey, and History teacher and lead guitarist, Mike “Manifesto” Davis. They used their classrooms as practice rooms after school hours and often invited students to listen and share their input.
