Backstory:
Quizzical Stomach emerged from the bustling music scene of Toronto, Canada, in the mid-2000s. The band was formed by high school friends Max Wilson and Jesse Harper, who met during a local Battle of the Bands competition. Their shared love of music and their knack for intricate, creative compositions quickly ignited a musical partnership. After recruiting drummer Sarah Mitchell and bassist Liam O’Brien, Quizzical Stomach was born, rapidly earning a reputation for their eclectic sound and high-energy performances.
With their quirky antics on and off the stage, they soon became local favorites, which led to their breakout in the larger music scene in the years that followed. Their journey, filled with struggles, triumphs, and the occasional odd food cravings (hence the name), has been a testament to their unique blend of heart, humor, and artistry in the world of music.

Title:
“Cereal Box Prophecy”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Am | G | D | Am
“I walk my way in the morning haze,
Pondering dreams and their twisted maze,
Reach for the cereal box, it’s quite absurd,
Reading the warning, ‘may contain words’.
(Chorus)
F | C | G | F
Cereal box prophecy,
In mundane lies the mystery,
In every crunch, an epiphany,
In every bite, I’m tasting destiny.
(Verse 2)
Am | G | D | Am
Life unfolds like a crossword puzzle,
Every decision, every hustle,
Answers all lie in grain and wheat,
Spelling out life’s treat, so sweet.
(Chorus)
F | C | G | F
Cereal box prophecy,
In mundane lies the mystery,
Every crunch, an epiphany,
In every bite, I feel free.
(Bridge)
Em | F | C | D
Crunching numbers, crunching flakes,
Life’s a gamble with high stakes,
In the end, it’s a matter of taste,
Chasing dreams, no time to waste.
(Chorus)
F | C | G | F
Cereal box prophecy,
In mundane hides the mystery,
Every crunch, an epiphany,
In every bite, I’m tasting victory.
(Outro)
Am | G | D | Am
So, here I stand with spoon in hand,
Reading life’s notes from the cereal brand,
One thing’s clear as I embrace the day,
In every crunch, I’ll find my way.”
Favorite Fan:
Their most passionate fan is Emily Hughes, a college student studying music in Ontario. Emily has been following the band since their early days in Toronto and has attended every local concert. Emily states, “Quizzical Stomach is more than just a band to me. Their music speaks to me on a personal level, and they always manage to inject humor and thoughtfulness into every song. The “Cereal Box Prophecy” in particular, resonates with me because of its clever use of everyday metaphors to convey life’s complexities. It’s a perfect example of their signature style, and I think it’s brilliant. They remind me that life, like a good song, is full of unexpected twists and turns.”
