Backstory:
Unwitting Family was born in the vibrant neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York, in 2014. Childhood friends, Ben Harper (lead vocals, guitar), Tony Adams (drums, backup vocals), and sisters Natalie and Emily Peterson (bass and keyboards respectively) found their connection through shared love for music. They started off performing in small gigs in coffee shops and local bars, playing covers and gradually evolving into their unique style, a blend of indie rock and synth-pop with a dash of folk influences. Their raw energy, heartfelt lyrics, and memorable melodies quickly started to draw the attention of the local music scene, leading to a record deal in 2016 with the independent label, ‘Rusty Records’.

Title:
“Broken Tapestry”
Full song lyrics:
Verse 1:
Am G
“Underneath the city lights, we found our home,
Em F
In the rhythm of the night, we built our own,
Am G
Stories told, secrets unfold, we learned to fly,
Em F
In our Broken Tapestry, woven in the sky.”
Chorus:
C G
“Broken Tapestry, you and me,
Am Em
Writing verses of our destiny,
C G
In the corners of this city’s heart,
Am Em
We found the end and the start.”
Verse 2:
Am G
“Through the chaos, through the melody, we found our song,
Em F
In the silence, in the symphony, we found where we belong,
Am G
In the laughter, in the pain, in the tears we hide,
Em F
In our Broken Tapestry, we found our pride.”
Chorus:
C G
“Broken Tapestry, shades of reality,
Am Em
Painted with love and insanity,
C G
In the echoes of our shared past,
Am Em
We found our truths, vast and vast.”
