Profitable Colony

Backstory:

Profitable Colony was formed in the bustling city of Chicago in the summer of 2013. The band members, Luke Marston on vocals and guitar, Jeremy “Jet” Thompson on drums, and Alice Holloway on bass and backup vocals, were all seasoned musicians who bonded over a shared belief of the power of music to provoke thought and inspire change. They started playing in underground bars and soon gained a reputation for their energetic, thoughtful performances. Their name, Profitable Colony, is an ironic nod to the capitalist societies they often critique in their songs.

Genre:

Profitable Colony’s music is a unique blend of indie rock and folk, with elements of punk and alternative. They are known for their lyrical complexity and melodic guitar lines, as well as their powerful, syncopated drumming.

In a world where kings wear golden crowns,

Living out a sovereign dream.

We are the Profitable Colony,

Trading our hearts for apathy.

We are the Profitable Colony.

Through the smoke of burning truth,
G D
We see a glimpse of wasted youth.

Under the weight of golden chains,
G D
We find our joy in simple things.

Fan’s Testimonial:

“My name is Ethan and Profitable Colony is my absolute favorite band. Their music is just so raw and real. It makes me feel seen and understood. It’s not just about the melody or the beat, it’s about the message they’re trying to send. Their track ‘A Sovereign Dream’ is my anthem. It speaks to the struggles of our generation, and it’s an absolute banger live. They’re not just a band, they’re a movement.”
