Backstory:
Outstanding Fat was originally a trio of high school friends from a small town in Kentucky. The band was formed by lead vocalist and guitar player, Johnny ‘Biggie’ Biggins, bassist, Terry ‘Slim’ Fitch, and drummer, Gary ‘Thunder’ Burke. All three had their individual impacts – overweight Biggie was known for his booming voice and larger-than-life stage presence, Slim was a master at laying down heavy, funky bass lines despite his skinny frame and soft-spoken nature, and Thunder provided the heart-stopping beats with his powerful drumming. They began by playing at local bars and festivals, gaining attention for their unique sound and one-of-a-kind performances. They eventually caught the eye of a big-time producer in Nashville, who helped them climb the ranks to national stardom.
