Backstory:

Buttery Ground was formed in the summer of 2001 in the coastal town of Monterey, California. A quartet led by vocalist and songwriter, Casey Barnes, the band started as a group of high school friends jamming in their parents’ garages, covering early 2000s rock anthems and experimenting with their own sound. Their humble beginnings were marked by a series of small gigs at local pubs, coffee houses, and high school events. The name ‘Buttery Ground’ was inspired by a local surf spot known for its smooth waves, reflecting their love for their hometown and the ocean.

In 2003, they got their big break when they won a statewide battle of the bands competition. This caught the attention of an LA-based record label that offered them a contract, and since then, Buttery Ground has released four studio albums and have toured nationally and internationally, solidifying their place in the world of alternative rock.
