Backstory:
Formed in 2015 in the college town of Madison, Wisconsin, Mushy Bit started out as a quartet of music-loving friends who decided to venture beyond dorm room jam sessions. The band’s members are lead vocalist and guitarist Jo Riley, drummer Quincy ‘Q’ Hargrove, bassist Marcy ‘Mars’ Jones, and keyboardist Elijah ‘Eli’ Kaplan. Their shared love of music and unique combination of styles merged to create a sound that eventually made waves in the Madison music scene. Following several raucous house shows and local gigs, they recorded a demo that landed in the right hands, which led to their first record deal.
Inspired by the quirky parts of everyday life, Mushy Bit makes music that resonates with the ups and downs of being young and trying to figure it all out. Their signature style, coupled with their uncontainable energy and genuine love for what they do, has endeared them to fans across the state and beyond.

Title:
“Strawberry Soda Pop”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Intro]
G D Em C
[Verse 1]
G D
Underneath the pale moonlight,
Em
we met on a summer night,
C
tasting strawberry soda pop.
G D
We laughed at the funny stars,
Em
talked about our little scars,
C
and wished the night would never stop.
[Chorus]
G D
Strawberry Soda Pop,
Em C
you’re my sweetest drop.
G D
In your fizz I’m lost,
Em C
you’re worth any cost.
[Verse 2]
G D
Got lost in your candy eyes,
Em
our dreams as big as the skies,
C
underneath the neon shop.
G D
Promises we whispered low,
Em
only the night wind knows,
C
and our sweet Strawberry Soda Pop.
[Chorus]
G D
Strawberry Soda Pop,
Em C
you’re my sweetest drop.
G D
In your fizz I’m lost,
Em C
you’re worth any cost.
[Outro]
G D Em C
Oh, Strawberry Soda Pop.
Favorite Fan:
Mushy Bit’s favorite fan is a college student named Lily. She says, “I’ve been following Mushy Bit since their very first gig. Their music is the perfect blend of sweet, sour, and fizzy – just like my favorite Strawberry Soda Pop. Every song feels like a conversation with a dear friend, and their lyrics always manage to capture the feeling of young love, heartbreak, and everything in between. They are the soundtrack to my college years. I can’t wait to see where they go next. They have my full support!”
