Well-Lit Parent

Backstory:
Born in the heart of Seattle’s vibrant music scene, Well-Lit Parent came together as a group of school friends with a shared passion for storytelling and a rebellious spirit. Consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Joe “Lightbulb” Madison, bassist Rachel “Nighthawk” Anderson, drummer Danny “Drumfire” Johnson, and keyboardist Amy “Twinkle” Gonzalez, they found a unique bond in their love for music and a shared childhood of being raised by single parents. The name “Well-Lit Parent” was coined as a nod to their nurturing figures, and the idea that even in the darkest of times, there’s still an essence of light and hope.

After years of playing in local bars and at small festivals, the band got their big break when a music producer discovered them during a gig at a local cafe. Their honest, raw, and uplifting lyrics combined with their energetic performances swiftly caught the attention of music lovers, and they’ve been lighting up the Seattle music scene ever since.

“Light in the Shadows”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] In the streets of the city so [D] cold,
[Em] Walking the path that our [C] parents have told,
[G] Life hit us hard, but we [D] never fold,
[Em] Carry their light, yeah, that’s [C] our gold.

(Chorus)
[C] Light in the shadows, [G] hope in the night,
[Em] Love’s the candle, [D] burning bright.
[C] Stand as a beacon, [G] stand as a guide,
[Em] For all the lost souls, [D] far and wide.

(Verse 2)
[G] We’ve known sorrow, we’ve [D] known pain,
[Em] Felt the thunder, danced in the [C] rain,
[G] But the love they’ve given, it [D] still remains,
[Em] We are the light, in a world [C] so vain.

(Chorus)
[C] Light in the shadows, [G] hope in the night,
[Em] Love’s the candle, [D] burning bright.
[C] Stand as a beacon, [G] stand as a guide,
[Em] For all the lost souls, [D] far and wide.
