Classic Throat

Backstory:

Formed in the dimly lit backrooms of a small-town Wisconsin bar in 2014, Classic Throat was the brainchild of lifelong friends, Robert “Bob” Turner and Alex “Axle” Smith. Bob, an auto mechanic by day and self-taught bassist by night, and Axle, a grocery store manager with a love for drumming, decided to combine their musical talents. They recruited skilled guitarist, Lisa “Lightning” Lark, from a rival band, and the final piece came in the form of powerhouse vocalist and songwriter, Jenna “Jinx” Harrington, who happened to be Bob’s second cousin. Classic Throat was complete. The band quickly gained a local following for their thrilling performances, heart-tugging lyrics, and Jenna’s uniquely raw and powerful voice.

Genre:

Classic Throat’s music is a blend of classic rock with a touch of blues and soul, drawing inspiration from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, and The Rolling Stones.

Song Title:

“Rusty Cage of Hearts”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
E A
I was born in this rusty cage of hearts,
D E
Where dreams are buried, where love departs.
E A
Jinxed by the world, I played my part,
D E
In this rusty cage of hearts.

(Chorus)
A D
Rusty cage, oh, rusty cage,
E A
You hold my dreams and you fuel my rage.
A D
Rusty cage, oh, rusty cage,
E A
I’ve got to break free, turn the page.

(Verse 2)
E A
I’ve got a ticket for a one-way trip,
D E
Loosen these chains, let them slip.
E A
In the mirror, I see my scarred face flip,
D E
Inside this rusty cage, I’m tightly gripped.

(Chorus)
A D
Rusty cage, oh, rusty cage,
E A
I’m a wild bird, won’t be your sage.
A D
Rusty cage, oh, rusty cage,
E A
From your iron bars, I’ll disengage.

(Bridge)
A D
Take this heart, take these dreams,
E A
We’re all just bursting at the seams.
A D
In the end, nothing’s what it seems,
E A
In this rusty cage of hearts, under the beams.

(Chorus)
A D
Rusty cage, oh, rusty cage,
E A
Gone are the days of youth and wage.
A D
Rusty cage, oh, rusty cage,
E A
I’ll fly away, I’m the next age.
