Backstory:
Born from the ashes of a small mining town in West Virginia, Bleak Tribunal formed in the early 2000s, when high school friends Jake Mullins, Marcus Beck, and siblings Ian and Olivia Morrison met in their school’s choir. The quartet started off playing covers in their parents’ basements, drawing inspiration from the bleakness of their hometown and the raw, visceral emotions they felt as adolescents. As they honed their sound, their music began to mirror their surroundings – dark, gritty, but with an underlying sense of hope and resilience.
Over the years, Bleak Tribunal has faced their fair share of ups and downs, including a brief hiatus when Ian had to battle addiction. However, their shared passion for music and the strong bond between this quartet has kept them together. They’ve since released three critically acclaimed albums, drawing a loyal fan base with their authentic sound and raw, emotional lyrics.

Title: Steel Town Blues
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Am – E – G – D
In the heart of steel town, oh where the air is heavy,
We were born, we were raised, in the shadow of the levy.
Life’s as hard as the coal, we were taught to dig deep,
In the silence of the night, dreams are cheap.
(Chorus)
D – G – E – Am
These are our steel town blues, carved on the soles of our shoes,
We walk the line, pay our dues, singing these steel town blues.
(Verse 2)
Am – E – G – D
Through the noise and the grime, we found a sweet melody,
In the darkness of the mines, we found our harmony.
We ain’t got much, but we got our songs,
In this steel town we belong.
(Chorus)
D – G – E – Am
These are our steel town blues, etched in the lines of our muse,
We bear the scars, we wear the bruises, singing these steel town blues.

Testimonial:
“Bleak Tribunal is more than just a band to me. They’re my escape, my solace. Their music resonates with me on a personal level. It’s like they’ve taken my thoughts, my feelings, and turned them into these beautiful, heart-wrenching songs. I grew up in a small town, similar to theirs, and their lyrics reflect my experiences, my struggles. It’s hard to find authenticity in music these days, but Bleak Tribunal – they’re as real as they come. And that’s why, they will always be my favorite band.”
