Backstory:
Starchy Capability, aptly named after the group’s shared love for potatoes and their remarkable ability to rock, was formed in the bustling streets of Dublin, Ireland in 2010. The band members, Darragh O’Leary (lead vocals), Sean McCarthy (lead guitarist), Eoin Murphy (bass guitarist), and Padraig Brennan (drummer), were all childhood friends who shared a mutual passion for music and spuds. They started out playing at small pubs around the city, quickly gaining traction for their unique sound and quirky thematic elements.
Their big break came when they were discovered by an independent record label executive while performing a particularly spirited rendition of “Potato, Oh My Potato” at a local farmer’s market. The band’s undeniable chemistry, coupled with their unique ability to seamlessly blend traditional Irish folk music and modern rock elements, has since catapulted them into international stardom.

Title:
“The Spuds and The Soil”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[D] Down in the grooves of the emerald land
[G] Spuds are growing, ain’t that grand?
[A] In the heart of the soil beneath the sky so royal,
[D] We find our roots, where we stand.
(Chorus)
[G] Oh, the spuds and the soil, [A] they do not recoil,
[D] Together they spin life’s cosmic coil.
[G] Growing under the sun, [A] a feast when the day is done,
[D] In the spuds and the soil, we find our toil.
(Verse 2)
[D] Under the rain, they swell with pride,
[G] Patiently waiting, with time they bide.
[A] From earth’s warm embrace, they emerge with grace,
[D] In the humble potato, we confide.
(Chorus)
[G] Oh, the spuds and the soil, [A] in life’s endless broil,
[D] They whisper tales of love, of loyalty, and of toil.
[G] Underneath the moon’s soft light, [A] they grow in the silence of the night,
[D] The spuds and the soil, our constant delight.
