Backstory:
Vague Favourite formed in 2015 in the bustling heart of San Francisco, where four music students crossed paths in a beat-up old record store. Amongst the stacks of vinyl and the echoes of music from the past, they found a shared love for emotive melodies and meaningful lyrics. These talented musicians – Sarah, Ryan, Jake, and Mike – decided to collaborate, and ‘Vague Favourite’ was born. The bond they formed was fueled by late-night jamming sessions, countless open-mic nights, and a shared apartment that served as their makeshift studio.
Their first album, “Reflections in the Rain,” put them on the indie scene map, resonating with listeners worldwide. The band’s heart-on-sleeve approach to songwriting and the unforgettable moments in their live performances have drawn a dedicated fanbase. The band’s commitment to their craft and their fans has remained steadfast, and they continue to create music that speaks from and to the heart.

Title:
“Shadows in the Echo”
Full song lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Am Em
In this room of faded whispers,
G D
Your voice still echoes clear.
Am Em
Through the shadows and the laughter,
G D
I still wish you were here.
(Chorus)
C G
Caught in the echo of your goodbye,
Am Em
The shadows dance with the ghost of your smile.
C G
I’m trying to forget, but every night,
Am Em
I’m lost in the echo, lost in your eyes.
(Verse 2)
Am Em
Time moves, but I’m still standing,
G D
Caught in our old refrain.
Am Em
Your memory is a melody,
G D
That plays on repeat in my brain.
(Chorus)
C G
Lost in the echo of your sweet sigh,
Am Em
The shadows hold the secrets of your lies.
C G
I’m trying to move on, but every night,
Am Em
I’m lost in the echo, lost in your eyes.

“I’ve been following Vague Favourite since their first open-mic night in a small San Francisco coffee shop. Their lyrics spoke to me like no other band’s had, touching on the raw, vulnerable parts of life we all experience but seldom discuss. I connected with their music in a profound way; it has been a comfort in tough times and a companion in joyful ones. Vague Favourite isn’t just my favorite band. They feel like friends who understand me, and that’s a rare, beautiful thing in music.”
