“Shapes in the Clouds”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am – C – G – D
Shadows on the pavement, whispers in the wind,
Asking all the questions, where do I begin?
Searching for the answers lost within my mind,
Chasing down a memory, leaving doubt behind.

(Chorus)
F – C – G
I see shapes in the clouds,
A story yet untold, a dream that’s so bold.
We’re writing our own script, making our own sound,
Finding our identity, in shapes in the clouds.

(Verse 2)
Am – C – G – D
Paths we have not taken, stars yet unseen,
Hopes and aspirations, what could’ve been.
In the canvas of the sky, we paint our own truth,
In the echoes of our music, we find our youth.

(Chorus)
F – C – G
I see shapes in the clouds,
A narrative of us, in harmonies we trust.
We’re telling our own tale, with rhythm so profound,
Creating our reality, in shapes in the clouds.

Helpless Council

Backstory:

Formed in the cold winters of Oslo, Norway, in 2003, the Helpless Council started as a group of childhood friends who turned their mutual love for music into a shared passion project. The band members, Erik Johannessen, Olaf Magnusson, Magnus Nielsen, and Lars Olsen, grew up on the same block and attended the same schools. Music became their escape from the harsh realities of their day-to-day lives. The group began by drafting songs in Erik’s basement, writing about their experiences and struggles, with a lot of their early work reflecting the angst and turbulence of their youth.

After years of honing their craft, the band members decided on a name that resonated with their feeling of being powerless in the face of societal pressures and constraints, thus ‘Helpless Council’ was born. Their determination and raw talent led them to their first record deal in 2008. Their debut album was a moderate success, but it was their second album that catapulted them to international fame, giving them a voice they once believed they would never have.

(Verse 1 – Am, Dm, G, C)
In the heart of Windy City, beneath the neon lights,

Strumming the Shadows of the Windy City, in my own kind of way.

Shadows of the Windy City, in every line I sing,
The echo of a thousand dreams, in every string.

Wrapped in their rhythm, it’s where I’m meant to be.

(Verse 2 – Am, Dm, G, C)
Saw the sunrise over Lake Michigan, a symphony in red,
Played the blues till dawn, every word left unsaid.
In the Shadows of the Windy City, I’ve found my melody,
In every note, every beat, lies the soul of this city.
