Backstory:
Misty Education was formed in the chic underground music scene of Portland, Oregon in 2005. The band was the brainchild of childhood friends, vocalist Madeline Ritchie and guitarist Jackson Bell, who wanted to create a sound that was as enigmatic as it was captivating. Their name, Misty Education, encapsulates their love for the raw, unrefined beauty of the Pacific Northwest and their commitment to constantly learning and evolving as musicians.
The pair were later joined by drummer Nathaniel Lee and bassist Sarah Knight, who brought with them their unique rhythms and an offbeat energy that completed the band’s unique sound. Misty Education’s success was not an overnight miracle; instead, it was a product of their unwavering dedication, countless performances in local pubs and bars, and their determination to provide their audience with an immersive musical experience.
