Wavy Guest

Backstory:

Wavy Guest began as a fever dream in the small coastal town of Eastbourne, United Kingdom. The band consists of four members – lead vocalist and guitarist Ethan Hart, bassist Rory Walker, drummer Sam Gilbert, and keyboardist Jamie Oliver. All of them attended the same high school, where they discovered a mutual love for music and the ocean, which led them to form a band in 2010. The name ‘Wavy Guest’ reflects their seaside roots and their love for fluid, flowing music. After years of performing in local venues, they struck a chord with a larger audience following their ethereal performance at the Brighton Fringe Festival in 2015, where they famously played a set in a rainstorm, refusing to quit.

Genre:

Wavy Guest fits comfortably into the realm of Indie Rock, with undertones of Psychedelic Pop and Surf Rock. Their sound is a harmonious blend of laid-back tunes, experimental rock elements, and trippy, echoing vocals. They often incorporate sounds of the sea into their tracks, resulting in a unique, refreshing mix that can be both calm and tempestuous, just like the ocean.

[G] Riding the [C] waves of the [G] salty sea,

[D] In the [G] Seashell Echo, [C] where our [G] love has slept.

“My name is Lucy Hale, and I am a die-hard fan of Wavy Guest. To me, their music is more than just tunes and lyrics. It’s a journey into a world that blends the tranquility and chaos of the sea with human emotions. Every time I listen to ‘Seashell Echo’, I can almost smell the sea, feel the sand beneath my feet, and sense the cool breeze on my skin. Their music helps me escape the monotony of day-to-day life. I’ve attended all their concerts within a hundred-mile radius and have every one of their albums. Wavy Guest isn’t just my favorite band, it’s a part of who I am.”
