Innocent Collar

Backstory:
Innocent Collar was formed in the heart of Seattle, Washington, during the rise of the indie music scene in the early 2010s. The band initially began as a duo in a dorm room at the University of Washington, where childhood friends, guitarist and vocalist James “Jay” Cutter, and drummer Benjamin “Benny” Lane, started crafting their unique sound. They later expanded into a quartet with the addition of bassist Laura Davis and keyboardist Alex Moore. Innocent Collar combines the raw vocal intensity of Jay Cutter with Benny’s rhythmic drum beats, Davis’ groovy basslines, and Moore’s melodic and ambient keys. Their music reflects their experiences, hopes, and heartaches, resonating deeply with their fans.

Song Title:
“Dawn of Desires”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Leaving behind the [D] ruins of the [Em] night,
[C] Under the streetlights, our [G] dreams took flight.
[G] Words unspoken, and [D] glances exchanged,
[Em] In your presence, I felt [C] strangely estranged.

(Chorus)
[G] Dawn of desires, [D] whispers in the dark,
[Em] Carrying us away on a [C] lonesome arc.
[G] Dawn of desires, [D] promises we made,
[Em] Are they enough to keep us from [C] being swayed?

(Verse 2)
[G] Trapped in the [D] throes of the [Em] mundane,
[C] Your sweet melody is my [G] only refrain.
[G] Between the heartbeats, and [D] the quiet sighs,
[Em] Lies the truth that [C] never dies.

(Chorus)
[G] Dawn of desires, [D] echoes of the past,
[Em] Will our love be the [C] kind that lasts?
[G] Dawn of desires, [D] secrets that we share,
[Em] Are they enough to [C] show we care?

End with (Chorus)
