Backstory:
Formed in the creative hotbed of Austin, Texas, in 2014, ‘Oblong Movement’ is the brainchild of frontman and mastermind, Leo Carver, along with members Amelia Thomason, Percy Winchester, and Quincy Unger. The band came together in the hallowed halls of the Austin School of Music where all of them were teaching different musical instruments. Instead of discussing course curriculum, they found themselves talking about their shared love for music that pushes boundaries, and so, Oblong Movement was born. Their mutual passion for creating thought-provoking and genre-defying music has been the linchpin of their success.

The band started as an experimental project, playing in local clubs and music festivals around Austin. With the release of their debut album, “Convex Spaces”, in 2016, they quickly started gaining popularity. Oblong Movement is admired for their originality, their audacious approach towards the conventional composition, and their intrinsic ability to combine vivid lyrics with captivating melodies.
