Backstory:
Darling Income was formed in a small cafe in the heart of bustling San Francisco during the summer of 2010. The founding members, lead vocalist and guitarist, Jared Wilson, drummer, Jacob “Jake” Turner, bassist, Olivia Baker, and keyboardist, Emma Stone, were all working in the same corporate firm. They were dissatisfied with their dreary nine-to-five jobs and were longing to do something that stirred their souls. They discovered their shared passion for music during an office party and decided to start a band as a creative outlet. What started as a hobby soon became a serious pursuit when their first self-produced EP went viral on the internet. From then on, they quit their corporate jobs and devoted themselves to making music, naming their band ‘Darling Income’ as a playful nod to their origins.

The band’s favorite fan is a young woman named Rosie Tanner. Rosie, a graphic designer based in Seattle, has been a fan of Darling Income since their early days. She recalls, “I first came across Darling Income on a music sharing platform. Their unique sound and relatable lyrics instantly resonated with me. I followed their journey from being corporate folks to full-fledged musicians, and it’s truly inspiring. They have shown me that it’s never too late to follow your dreams. I’ve attended every one of their concerts in the Pacific Northwest and it’s the highlight of my year. Their music has a special way of speaking directly to my soul.”
