Tubby Rail

Backstory:

Tubby Rail was formed in the late 2000s in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. Childhood friends, Matthew “Matty” Jenkins and Randall “Randy” Collins, found their shared passion for music during their middle school years and started jamming together in their parents’ garages. The duo spent their high school years writing songs, playing at small gigs, and dreaming of bigger stages. After a chance encounter with multi-instrumentalist, Sophia “Soph” Hammond, at a local music festival, the duo expanded into a trio, adding a new depth to their sound. Tubby Rail was finally complete, taking its name from an old disused railway line that ran behind Matty and Randy’s childhood homes.

Genre:

Tubby Rail’s music can be best described as Indie Folk with a twist of Americana, blending heartfelt lyrics with rich harmonies and warm acoustic melodies.

Title: “Shadows of Yesterday”

Full song lyrics:

(VERSE 1)
[G]Down the old Tubby Rail, we used to [C]play,
[D]Chasing shadows of yesterday, [G] away.
[G]The sun would set, the moon would [C]rise,
[D]In our young, hope-filled eyes. [G]

(CHORUS)
[G] We are the dreamers, [C]we are the lost,
[D]Chasing after what we once [G]had.
[G]We are the heartbeats, [C] we are the cost,
[D]Of shadows of yesterday, [G] past.

(VERSE 2)
[G]Beneath the stars, we shared our [C]dreams,
[D]Of music, love, and in-betweens, [G]
[G]Promises made in the summer [C]heat,
[D]Echoing in our steady beat. [G]

(CHORUS)
[G] We are the dreamers, [C]we are the lost,
[D]Chasing after what we once [G]had.
[G]We are the heartbeats, [C] we are the cost,
[D]Of shadows of yesterday, [G] past.

(OUTRO)
[G]So down the old Tubby Rail, we [C]stray,
[D]Chasing shadows of yesterday, [G] away.
