Glum Court

Backstory:

Glum Court originated in the outskirts of Birmingham, UK in 2010, formed by four childhood friends: Liam Donovan on vocals, Anna ‘Smithy’ Smith on drums, Michael ‘Mikey’ Callaghan on bass, and Alfie ‘Al’ Reeves on lead guitar. Their shared love for music and an uncanny knack for turning their life experiences into compelling lyrical narratives were what united them. They spent their early years playing in small clubs, slowly developing their sound and gaining a local following.

The breakthrough came in 2014, after a chance encounter with a record label executive during an open-mic night at a local pub. Impressed by their raw talent and unique sound, the executive offered them a deal. Since then, Glum Court has been living their dream, touring around the world, and captivating audiences with their heartfelt performances.

Title:
“Shadows in the Light”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em G D A
In the streets where we used to roam,
Em G D A
Our whispers carried by the wind alone,
Em G D A
The echoes of laughter, now ghosts in the night,
Em G D A
We’re just shadows in the light.

(Chorus)
C G D A
We’re dancing with memories, lost in the fight,
C G D A
Between what’s wrong and what feels right,
C G D A
Caught in the past, we yearn for the flight,
C G D A
We’re just shadows in the light.

(Verse 2)
Em G D A
In the corners of our forgotten dreams,
Em G D A
We’re lost, tangled in the world’s seams,
Em G D A
Chasing illusions, in the endless night,
Em G D A
We’re just shadows in the light.

(Chorus Repeat)

(Outro)
Em G D A
So we hold on tight, as time takes flight,
Em G D A
In this world, we’re just shadows in the light.

Bands Favorite Fan:

The band’s favorite fan is a man named Kevin Jones. Kevin has been following Glum Court since their early days, going to every local gig, and supporting them through thick and thin.

Kevin’s Testimonial:

“From the very first show, I knew Glum Court was something special. Their lyrics hit me in the heart – they sang about the things we all feel but can’t put into words. The energy, the emotion, it’s raw and real. Glum Court isn’t just a band to me. Their music is the soundtrack to my life, it uplifts me in my lows, and makes my highs even better. I’ve watched them grow and evolve, and their music has done the same. They are more than my favorite band – they’re a part of who I am.”
