Backstory:
Formed under the amber street lights of the bustling city of Seattle, ‘Runny Writer’ is a four-piece outfit that has established a unique voice in the alternative music scene. The band took its roots in 2013 when songwriter and lead singer, Jax Barlow, met drummer Ryan Stevens in a coffee shop. They connected instantly over shared musical interests and began composing songs in Jax’s small apartment. Soon, they were joined by bassist, Sophie Tellis, and guitarist, Max Williams. The name ‘Runny Writer’ is inspired by Jax’s experience as a writer often overwhelmed by the fury of ideas, with the words flowing like running ink.
