Previous Register

Backstory:

Previous Register was formed on a fateful evening in a small pub in Dublin. A group of four friends, bored with their day jobs and fueled by a shared love for music, decided to give their dream a go – to create music that would touch souls and enliven spirits. Their collective journey started that night. Comprised of lead vocalist Pete O’Reilly, guitarist Sean Murphy, bassist Eoin Connolly and drummer Mike Donnelly, the band aimed to create a blend of traditional Irish folk music with contemporary elements.

In the heart of their music was their shared Irish heritage and the lore and traditions associated with it. They chose the name ‘Previous Register’ to indicate their respect for the traditional folk music ‘register’ while also signifying their intent to add their own modern twists. Over the years, they have performed in Underground music festivals, local pubs, and even on international stages, mesmerizing audiences with their infectious energy and raw, heartfelt music.

Fan’s Name: John McGrath

John says, “I’ve seen Previous Register play in pubs, festivals, and even at a friend’s wedding. There’s something magical about their music, it’s like they’ve captured the spirit of old Ireland and infused it with a new breath of life. Their song ‘Reverberations of the Old’ is particularly poignant, and it’s my favorite for sure. My love for this band isn’t just about the music, it’s about the story they’re telling, the history they’re preserving, and the culture they’re celebrating. To me, Previous Register isn’t just a band, they’re a movement, a tribute to our roots.”
