Lumpy Cat

Backstory:
Born out of the ashes of a defunct garage band, Lumpy Cat came into existence during a late-night jam session in a grungy basement. The band’s members, drummer Liz, bassist Josh, lead vocalist Kay, and guitarist Max, found that they shared a unique musical vision which they expressed through their stirring lyrics and innovative melodies. They decided to name their band after an eccentric neighborhood cat, known for its unusual, lumpy appearance and free-spirited attitude, which they felt personified their new, unconventional musical journey.

Title:
“Whiskers in the Wind”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1, chords: Em-C-G-D)
Em C
Moonlight on the rooftop,
G D
A lumpy silhouette dances.
Em C
Whispers of the midnight breeze,
G D
A cat’s life takes its chances.

(Chorus, chords: G-D-Am-Em)
G D
With whiskers in the wind,
Am Em
Against the world we grind.
G D
We’re just lumpy cats,
Am Em
With nine lives, we find.

(Verse 2, chords: Em-C-G-D)
Em C
Yowling at the starlight,
G D
Scratching at tomorrow,
Em C
Our dreams like alley fights,
G D
Eloquently echo our sorrow.

(Chorus, chords: G-D-Am-Em)
G D
With whiskers in the wind,
Am Em
Against the world we grind.
G D
We’re just lumpy cats,
Am Em
Unraveled but intertwined.

(Bridge, chords: C-G-Am-Em)
C G
Through the dim-lit haze,
Am Em
We chase our shadows,
C G
In life’s odd phrased maze,
Am Em
Away from the gallows.

(Chorus, chords: G-D-Am-Em)
G D
With whiskers in the wind,
Am Em
Against the world we grind.
G D
We’re just lumpy cats,
Am Em
Living life, unconfined.

(Band’s Favorite Fan’s Testimonial)

She states, “Lumpy Cat’s music is like a mirror–it reflects my joys, my anxieties, my dreams, and my unspoken thoughts. Their music isn’t just a bunch of tunes; it’s a conversation with my soul. I appreciate them not only for their musical talent but also for their ability to evoke emotions and initiate thought-provoking dialogues through their songs. They’re my favorite band because they make me feel seen, heard, and most importantly, understood.”
