Backstory:
Broken Brass was formed in the vibrant heart of New Orleans, Louisiana, by four childhood friends: Jake “Jazz Hands” Johnson on trumpet, Ronnie “Riffs” Richards on trombone, Benny “Bass” Bennett on tuba, and Sammy “Sticks” Stevenson on drums. Growing up immersed in the city’s rich musical culture, they each discovered their passion for music at a young age. They started out playing at local jazz bars, honing their craft until their unique blend of New Orleans jazz, funk, and blues started to catch the attention of music lovers everywhere. Their indomitable spirit and irresistible dynamism have made them a must-see live act, known for their high-energy performances and virtuosic musicianship.
In 2013, after years of hard work and dedication, Broken Brass was finally noticed by a music producer while performing at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. This led to the signing of their first record deal, propelling them from the local music scene into the national spotlight. Despite their newfound fame, they’ve remained true to their roots, expressing the soul of New Orleans through every note they play.

(Verse)
[G] Down by the bayou, under the [C] willow,

[G] Born in the Big Easy, fueled by [D] desire.
(Chorus)
[G] We are the Broken Brass, [C] bold and free,
[G] Playing our hearts out, for all to [D] see.

[G] We’re the sound of New Orleans, forever [D] more.
(Verse)
[G] We found our rhythm in the [C] city of jazz,
[G] A sound so sweet, none could [D] surpass.
[G] Through joy and sorrow, we’ve [C] played our tune,
[G] Under the Louisiana sun, or by the [D] light of the moon.

[G] We are the Broken Brass, [C] wild and true,
[G] Playing our souls out, just for [D] you.
[G] From the French Quarter to the [C] endless bayou,
