Backstory:
Helpless Programme was formed in a small suburban garage in Seattle, Washington, in 2012. The band members – Neil Hammond (vocals and guitar), Erica Barnes (bass), and Derek Foster (drums) – were high school friends who shared a common love for music. Their passion drove them to work multiple part-time jobs to afford instruments and recording equipment. Their dedication began to pay off when their blend of intellectual lyrics and unique sound started to create a local buzz, leading to gigs at local bars and clubs. After years of hard work, in 2016, Helpless Programme got a significant break when a talent scout from an indie record label saw them perform and offered them a contract.

Title:
“Lost in Circuits”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1 – Dm, F, G, Am)
Dm F
Up all night, lost in circuits,
G Am
Coding our dreams into reality,
Dm F
Walls closing in, but we’re fearless,
G Am
Transcending bounds of normality.
(Chorus – F, C, G, Am)
F C
Oh, we’re the Helpless Programme,
G Am
In a world, that’s binary and cold,
F C
Creating our own anthem,
G Am
Defying the codes, we’ve been told.
(Verse 2 – Dm, F, G, Am)
Dm F
Wires crossed, signals failing,
G Am
Still, we’re dancing in the static,
Dm F
Dreams so vast, so unfailing,
G Am
Our hopes, in codes, they’re ecstatic.
(Chorus – F, C, G, Am)
F C
Oh, we’re the Helpless Programme,
G Am
Fighting against the digital mold,
F C
Writing our own anthem,
G Am
Defying the codes, we’ve been told.
Favorite Fan:
Our favorite fan is Alice Thompson. Alice has been with us since our very first gig in a local bar. She followed us through our journey, from playing at tiny venues to signing with a record label. Alice says, “Helpless Programme’s music speaks to my soul. Their unique blend of existential angst and digital-age defiance is something I relate to deeply. Their songs like ‘Lost in Circuits’ echo with the paradox of the modern era, which resonates with my own experiences. I’m really proud to be a part of their journey, and I can’t wait to see where they go next.”
