Backstory:
Sentimental Sidewalk is a band that was formed in the small coastal town of Pismo Beach, California, in 2008. The four-piece group, composed of high school best friends, Jack Turner (lead vocals), Andrew “Drew” Ferguson (lead guitarist), Benjamin “Benjy” Reed (bassist), and Cody Price (drummer), started their journey by playing at local bars and school events. Their signature sound, a unique fusion of indie, folk, and pop, garnished with melancholic lyrics, was born from late-night jamming sessions and their shared sense of nostalgia and sentimentality.
They drew inspiration from the local scenery, the sea, the pier, and the sidewalks that witnessed their growth. Their breakout came in 2012, after a video of their performance at a local music festival went viral, leading to a recording contract with an independent label. Since then, Sentimental Sidewalk has been enchanting audiences with their resonant lyrics and soulful tunes, all while maintaining their grounded and nostalgic appeal.

Title:
“Seashells and Sunrise”
Full Song Lyrics:
Verse 1:
[G]Walking on the sidewalk, [Em]close to midnight,
[C]Memories flooding in, under the [D]streetlight.
[G]Your laughter echoes, [Em]in the vacant space,
[C]Lost in time, yet [D]fresh as the ocean’s embrace.
Chorus:
[G]Seashells and sunrise, [Em]moments we shared,
[C]In the canvas of time, our [D]love was declared.
[G]Hand in hand, on this [Em]sentimental sidewalk,
[C]We weaved our tale, in [D]silence and small talk.
Verse 2:
[G]The sea washed away, [Em]our sandcastles of dreams,
[C]Yet in our hearts, love [D]flows like streams.
[G]Under the starry night, [Em]we danced with the tide,
[C]In the rhythm of waves, our [D]souls collide.
Chorus:
[G]Seashells and sunrise, [Em]moments that stay,
[C]In the echo of waves, we [D]find our way.
[G]Hand in hand, on this [Em]sentimental sidewalk,
[C]With every step, we [D]add to our love’s chronicle.
Favorite Fan:
The band’s favorite fan is a woman named Sophie Turner, no relation to Jack. Sophie has been a die-hard fan since their early bar gig days, and she became their unofficial cheerleader. She has attended almost every concert, sporting her lucky, faded Sentimental Sidewalk t-shirt. Sophie says, “I feel a personal connection with their music, it’s as if they’ve transformed my feelings into lyrics. Their songs are like a comforting friend on a lonely day. The rawness, the emotion, the nostalgia – it feels like a warm hug. I am proud to be their fan, and I am thrilled to see them grow while staying true to their roots.”
