Backstory:
Beautiful Opponent was formed in San Francisco in 2014, during a local jam night at the iconic “The Salty Pirate” pub. Lead singer and guitarist David ‘Davy’ Reynolds, bassist Jenny ‘Jinx’ McCartney, and drummer Tim ‘Timber’ Lawson, three complete strangers, were randomly grouped together for the evening’s session. Their chemistry was undeniable, their sound a perfect harmony, and by the end of the night, they were Beautiful Opponent.
After that fateful night, they honed their skills at local venues, developing a devoted fan base who fell in love with their raw energy and deft songcraft. Their mix of gritty street rhythms, introspective lyrics, and raw, passionate performances turned heads and caught the attention of Echologic Records, leading to their first record deal in 2016. Since then, they’ve released three albums and toured extensively, even performing at the renowned Lollapalooza music festival.
