Backstory:
Overdue Fault was formed on the outskirts of Seattle, in the grungy underbelly of the city’s music scene. The band’s four members – lead vocalist/guitarist Finn, bassist Avery, drummer Max, and keyboardist Riley – met at a local dive bar’s open mic night, where they had all separately decided to showcase their solo talents. Their styles were so different that a clash seemed inevitable. However, when a technical glitch forced them to share stage time, they discovered an uncanny musical chemistry. This spontaneous, unplanned jam session gave birth to Overdue Fault, a band that prided itself on its unexpected harmonies and lyrical depth.
Their rise to fame wasn’t easy, as their contrasting musical backgrounds often led to heated disagreements. But as they learned to appreciate each other’s unique perspectives, they found their sound evolving, blending Finn’s bluesy vocals, Avery’s punk rock bass, Max’s jazz-influenced drums, and Riley’s classical piano into an unexpected but captivating sound that quickly captured the hearts of music lovers in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

“Shades of Yesterday”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Am G F E
Can you see through the shades of yesterday,
C Dm Am G
The memories that we made still play.
F Em Dm G
Reflecting in your eyes, the past we can’t disguise,
Am G F E
Are we living in the shades of yesterday?
(Chorus)
C Dm Am G
Let’s break down these walls, answer the calls,
F Em Dm G
Drown in the echo of our falls.
Am G F E
We were never meant to stay,
C Dm Am G
In the shades of yesterday.
(Verse 2)
Am G F E
Can we step out from the shades of yesterday,
C Dm Am G
The games that we once loved to play?
F Em Dm G
Caught in a timeless maze, lost in a forgotten haze,
Am G F E
Do we belong in the shades of yesterday?
(Chorus)
C Dm Am G
Let’s rewrite the tales, set the sails,
F Em Dm G
Leave behind the haunted trails.
Am G F E
We were never meant to stay,
C Dm Am G
In the shades of yesterday.

“I am absolutely obsessed with Overdue Fault. Their music speaks to me on a spiritual level. Finn’s raw vocals, Avery’s energetic bass, Max’s rhythmic drums, and Riley’s mesmerizing keyboard skills blend together to create an alternative rock masterpiece. ‘Shades of Yesterday’ is my favorite. It’s as if they’ve taken my life, put it into a song, and made it beautiful. Their music has that power to connect with you, to understand you. It’s not just their music though, it’s them. The way they interact with us fans, the way they’ve persisted through their struggles, it’s inspiring. Overdue Fault isn’t just my favorite band, they’re heroes to me.”
