Tattered Trip

Backstory:

Tattered Trip is a band that was formed in the heart of Texas in 2010. The four-piece ensemble consists of childhood friends Jake McAllister (vocals and guitar), Ross Barnes (drums), Bella Cross (bass), and Hannah Kline (keyboard and backing vocals). They all grew up in the same neighborhood, where they spent countless hours jamming in each other’s garages, bonding over their shared love for music. When they all ended up at the same college, it felt only natural to make their friendship official and start a band. Their name, Tattered Trip, came from the way they felt after their first cross-country tour in a broken-down van, tired and worn out but exhilarated and filled with a sense of accomplishment.

Title:

“Dandelion Dreams”

Song Lyrics:

Verse 1:
[G] There’s a dandelion [D] in the field,
[Em] Waiting for the wind to [C] yield.
[G] Counting minutes, counting [D] days,
[Em] Hoping for a gust to take its [C] pain away.

Chorus:
[C] Oh, dandelion [G] dreams, floating in the [D] wind,
[Em] Carrying the hopes we’ve [C] held within.
[G] On a tattered trip, we [D] send them high,
[Em] Hoping they’ll reach the [C] blue sky.

Verse 2:
[G] There’s a story [D] in our hearts,
[Em] Of dreams that have been torn [C] apart.
[G] But like the dandelion, we [D] stand,
[Em] Waiting for the wind to lend a [C] hand.

Chorus:
[C] Oh, dandelion [G] dreams, floating in the [D] wind,
[Em] Carrying the stories we’ve [C] held within.
[G] On a tattered trip, we [D] send them high,
[Em] Hoping they’ll reach the [C] blue sky.

Bridge:
[Am] So we keep dreamin’, keep believin’,
[F] Even when our hopes are leavin’
[C] We hold tight and [G] let them fly,
[Am] On a tattered trip under the [F] big blue sky.

Chorus:
[C] Oh, dandelion [G] dreams, floating in the [D] wind,
[Em] Carrying the love we’ve [C] held within.
[G] On a tattered trip, we [D] send them high,
[Em] Hoping they’ll touch the [C] blue sky.
