Backstory:

Clever Twig was born in the vibrant, eclectic streets of Portland, Oregon during the summer of 2012. The core members of the band, Timothy “Twig” McAdams on vocals and guitar, Rachel Black on bass, and Jake “Hawthorn” Vernon on drums, were all former music students at the University of Oregon. After graduation, they found their respective gigs uninspiring and longed for the raw authenticity they felt was lacking in the mainstream scene. They decided to form Clever Twig, named after McAdams’ nickname, a tribute to his quick-witted lyrics and skinny stature.

The band started playing their unique blend of music in cozy bars, underground music festivals, and private parties, steadily building a loyal fan base. Their breakout moment came when they were noticed by a music producer during one of their impromptu performances at a local charity event. This encounter led to their debut album, which has since been followed by two more successful albums, each reflecting their growth as individual musicians and as a cohesive musical unit.
