Mortified Governor

Backstory:
Mortified Governor got its start in the gritty heart of Detroit, Michigan amidst the booming alternative music scene of the late 1990s. Comprised of lead singer and guitarist Tony “Twister” Mendez, bassist Brody “Bones” Jones, drummer Riley “Rumble” O’Leary, and keyboardist Fiona “Fury” Murphy, the band brought together their diverse musical influences to craft a unique sound. The name “Mortified Governor” came about during an intense brainstorming session, where they found humor in the thought of a politician being horrified by their rebellious and savvy lyrics.

Title:
“Concrete Jungle Rhapsody”

Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[D] Down in the depths of a concrete jungle,
[G] Found a home in chaos and rumble.
[A] On the streets where the wild things tangle,
[D] We’re the poets of the gritty angle.

(Chorus)
[G] Hey, hey, toast to the concrete rhapsody,
[A] Sing of freedom and the city symphony.
[D] Echoing through the alley and underpass,
[G] We’re the voice of the misfit, first and last.

(Verse 2)
[D] Dance in the fire of neon nights,
[G] Serenade the moon in the graffiti lights.
[A] Speaking truth with our punk rock parable,
[D] We’re the sound of the city, undeniable.

(Chorus)
[G] Hey, hey, toast to the concrete rhapsody,
[A] We’re the rhythm of rebel, the melody.
[D] Roaring loud from the rooftops high,
[G] Sing it out, till the day we die.
