Backstory:
Virtuous Sugar is a powerhouse quartet that originated in the heart of Austin, Texas. Formed in 2014, childhood friends Peter Smith (lead vocals, guitar), Daniel Hopkins (bass), and twins Emily and Erica Foster (keyboard and drums, respectively) decided to take their passion for music beyond their basement jam sessions. They chose the name Virtuous Sugar to represent their pure, unadulterated love for music and their sweet, down-to-earth personalities. The band started out playing in small bars around Texas before their unique sound caught the attention of a local record label executive.
Fueled by their shared love of exploring different musical styles, Virtuous Sugar crafted a sound that uniquely blended southern rock, pop, and soul, creating a genre that is distinctively their own. They gained national attention following the release of their debut album in 2016, and they quickly became known for their high-energy performances, engaging lyrics, and infectious melodies.
