Backstory:
Swift Drive was established in the small midwestern town of Champaign, Illinois. The band’s members – Eddie “Oz” Oswald on lead vocals and guitar, Tommy “T-Bone” Reynolds on bass, and siblings Lucy and Jake “Jay” Merritt on keyboards and drums respectively – all shared a love for music from a young age. Growing up together in the same neighborhood, they formed a band in their high school years. Originally, they started playing at local events and small bars, but their unique sound quickly gained attention and they started touring nationally. Their bond, both as friends and musicians, is what they believe drives their success and keeps them grounded.
Genre:
Swift Drive’s music can be described as a unique blend of Indie Rock and Americana, with a dash of modern Pop for good measure.
Song Title:
“Riding the Rhythm”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1 – Am / G / F / E)
In this town we were born and raised,
On its streets, we spent our days,
Music and dreams showed us the way,
Now we’re riding the rhythm, come what may.
(Chorus – C / G / Am / Em)
Riding the rhythm, under the sun,
In the swift drive, feeling as one,
Through the highs and the lows, till the day is done,
Riding the rhythm, our journey has begun.
(Verse 2 – Dm / C / Bm / A)
Through the heartache, through the joy,
Music’s our language, it’s our toy,
With each note, we deploy,
Riding the rhythm, it’s not just a ploy.
(Chorus – C / G / Am / Em)
Riding the rhythm, under the moon,
With the swift drive, we’ll get there soon,
With the music, we’re in tune,
Riding the rhythm, like a sweet monsoon.
(Final Chorus – C / G / Am / Em)
Riding the rhythm, swift and free,
In the swift drive, we find our glee,
This is our song, this is our plea,
Riding the rhythm, for eternity.
