Pushy Winter

Backstory:
Pushy Winter was formed in a small town in Alberta, Canada, where long winters are a norm. The band consists of childhood friends, Alex Vail (vocals, guitar), Kevin Sanders (drums), and Chris D’Amico (bass), who bonded over their shared love for music and their mutual disapproval of Canadian winters. One day, while practicing in their garage amidst yet another snowstorm, they named their band ‘Pushy Winter’, as a tribute to the tough weather that shaped their passion for music and kept them indoors, crafting their sound.

In the beginning, they started playing gigs at local pubs, steadily gaining a following for their distinctive music. Their big break came when a music producer on a vacation in their town happened to catch one of their gigs. He immediately recognized their talent and signed them to his label. Since then, Pushy Winter has been making waves in the music scene across Canada and beyond.

“Snow in July”

Full Song Lyrics:

[Intro]
D A Em G

[Verse 1]
(D)The snow is falling in the heart of July,
(A)Angels in the flurries, as we let out a sigh.
(Em)We were never meant to be, but we gave it a try,
(G)Now it’s just you and me, under the cold sky.

[Chorus]
(D)Snow in July, (A)our love has run dry,
(Em)Under the pushy winter sky, (G)we say goodbye.

[Verse 2]
(D)Our hearts were blazing, now they’re cold as ice,
(A)Love is a gamble, we rolled the dice.
(Em)Now we’re just memories, fading in the night,
(G)Snow in July, our last goodbye.

[Chorus]
(D)Snow in July, (A)our time was a lie,
(Em)Under the pushy winter sky, (G)we say goodbye.

[Bridge]
(D)We once had a fire, now there’s nothing to ignite,
(A)In the heart of summer, we face the longest night.
(Em)As the snowflakes fall, we let our dreams take flight,
(G)Snow in July, out of sight.

[Chorus]
(D)Snow in July, (A)we gave it our best try,
(Em)Under the pushy winter sky, (G)we say goodbye.

[Outro]
(D)As the snow falls down, (A)we let our past die,
(Em)Snow in July, (G)our final goodbye.

Favorite Fan:
Their favorite fan is a woman named Beth, who has been following their journey since their garage days. Beth is a librarian who was their first local supporter and they fondly refer to her as their “first fan.” In her own words, “Pushy Winter’s music has seen me through some of the most challenging times of my life. They have a unique ability to combine poignant lyrics with powerful melodies that can touch your soul. Their music is like a warm blanket on a cold winter’s day, always there to provide comfort.”
