Anguished Weekend

Backstory:
Anguished Weekend emerged from the bustling underground music scene of Manchester, England in 2011. The band was formed by four childhood friends: Daniel “Danny” Mitchell on vocals and rhythm guitar, Alex “Lex” Thorne on lead guitar, Noah “Nash” Shaw on drums, and Oliver “Ollie” Evans on bass. The quartet started as a garage band, spending their weekends creating unique soundscapes, their music reflecting the anguish and angst of everyday life. Their collective passion, fueled by their shared experiences, led to the creation of Anguished Weekend.

Post their first gig at a local pub, they quickly gained attention with their raw talent and youthful spirit. Their gritty performances and the emotional depth of their lyrics resonated with the audience, leading them to steadily build a loyal fan base. Over the years, Anguished Weekend has matured and evolved, but they’ve retained their authenticity: their music is still a reflection of life’s trials and tribulations, a testament to their humble beginnings and the undying spirit of the weekend warrior.

Title:
“Shadows in the Sunlight”

Lyrics:
[Verse 1: Dm C Bb A]
In the morning, when the sun lights up the sky,
I still see shadows, heavy on my mind.
All the echoes, of the words you used to say,
They still haunt me, as I face another day.

[Chorus: F C Dm Bb]
We’re just shadows in the sunlight, lost in time,
Echoes of love, that were once yours and mine.
No matter how bright the day, I still feel the night,
We’re just shadows in the sunlight, lost from sight.

[Verse 2: Dm C Bb A]
Every weekend, feels like an anguished lie,
Living memories, of the times we used to fly.
The empty silence, echoes in the room,
Every corner, reminds me of you.

[Chorus: F C Dm Bb]
We’re just shadows in the sunlight, fading away,
Echoes of love, that just couldn’t stay.
Though the sun may shine, I still feel the night,
We’re just shadows in the sunlight, losing our fight.

[Bridge: Dm Bb C A]
In the anguish of the weekend, and the pain of the past,
We’re just shadows in the sunlight, fading fast.

[Chorus: F C Dm Bb]
We’re just shadows in the sunlight, lost in time,
Echoes of love, that were once yours and mine.
No matter how bright the day, I still feel the night,
We’re just shadows in the sunlight, lost from sight.
