Backstory:
Expensive Currency was formed in the bustling city of Atlanta, Georgia, in 2010. The band members, Chris (vocals/guitar), Jake (drums), and Gina (bass), had all met while studying at the University of Georgia. United by their shared interest in world economics, they began writing songs about the financial crises and wealth disparity, using music as a medium to voice their concerns. Their music became a unique blend of commentary on socioeconomic issues and an escape from them.
By 2012, Expensive Currency had built a significant underground following, and their debut album “Inflation of Affection” caught the attention of indie rock lovers across the nation.
